Oceans melting greenland internship

This summer I had the amazing opportunity to intern for Nasa’s Oceans Melting Greenland mission. This mission is a five year long exploration that studies ocean temperature, glacial ice, and mapping of the ocean floor around glacial fronts in order to better understand marine-terminating glaciers’ melt rates.

This handwoven piece was based off of ocean temperature data being collected at the face of Jakobshavn and the correlating ice melt. See more about Jakobshavn and its unexpected growth in 2017 here: https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/news.php?feature=7356
